conlusion
There are enclosed for such disposition as the Department may
deem appropriate _ about 80 letters and telegrams expressing
sympathy and condolences written to the Ambassador or to the
Embassy_ together with copies of the acknowledgments made by
the American Charge d 'Affaires ad interim_ Also enclosed are
about 125 personal cards which were dropped at the Embassy _
On June 18 the local press published a brief release by the
Embassy expressing its appreciation for the condolences which
it had received The signature pages from the book which was
set up in the front lobby 0f the Chancery will be sent forward
separately.
The Embassy considers that the condolences and tributes ex_
pressed by Portuguese citizens ana residents were an impressive
manifestation of the high regard in which the Senator and his
ideals were held . This was especially noteworthy in a country
as conservative as Portugal _

On June 7, the Provincial Assembly of East Pakistan observed two minutes of

"ROBERT KENNEDY"
"The assassin' 9 bullets have silenced a most promi= career, We have no words
to console the elder Kennedys, but one tning is certain, that the young Senator S
life has been cut short before it could reach its greatest political triwph . No
doubt, Senator Kennedy takes his due place in the history of the United Statesa
We pray for the salvation of his soul The killing of' the Kennedys, Malcom X
and Martin Luther King represert 2 very sad aspect of the American lifes World
reaction to the Kennedy murder has not at all been favorable to the United States,
Even the most friendly court ries have expressed their concern over this trend in
the US . The best reaction has, however , come from the US soldier. We join him
preying, "God Save the US"_

"'SENATOR ROBERT KENNEDY"
"Tne death of Senator Kennedy signals the death of the growing optimism for
peace all over the world, His death is not only a loss of the US, it 1s a loss
for the whole world. The murderers of Lincoln, th Kennedys and Martin Iuther
will haunt the thinking of Americans for all tie to come. But the
question is: Will it be possible to solve the murder? Did Sirhan actually kill
Senator Kennedy? The responsibility of answering th ese very important questions
rest8 with the American people. What the actual effect of the Kennedy murder
will be is still premature to speculate. But one thing is certain: the (5 hes
lost much of its international respect. Our heart goes out with the Kennedy
faily. Indeed, the Americans deserve pity."

IROBERT KENNED Y"
"The agsassination of Robert Kennedy exposes one dark aspect of the Americen
society Whether there is any link between the murders Qf John Kennedy,
Martin Luther and Robert Kennedy one cannot say , but bhe latest murder
definitely increases the responsibility of the US Goverrment to clear up the
situations The way re= spongible people heve been discarding the possibility
of the existence of a conspiracy makes one wonder whether it would be at all
possible to find out the truth.
"Attempt s are being made to pin the murder on the foreigner. 'This is a dangerous
attempt . This will mislead the people and it is likely that this 18
an attempt on the of the Jews to fan up greater hatred against the Arabs
among the American people. Tne murder of Robert Kennedy makes it a moral oblige-
tion for the Johnson Administration to clear up the crime. The question before
the
American people today is whether they will exist 25 a
decent society or plunge
#1 into complete lawlessness.

'THERE IS A DEEP POLITICAL CONSPIRACY BEHIN TH MRDER OF' ROBER KENNEDY"
"Senator Robert F. Kennedy, the most popular candidate in the jmpending Presi -
dentiel election hes been killed by an assassin' s bullet within five years of
the assassination of his brother, President John F. Kenriedy - Robert Kennedy
has been killed at the age of only 42, when he was at the of' popularity
due to his support for the establishmert of peace in Vietnam and equal rights
of the Negroes in the US. President John F_ Kennedy had to give his life at
the age of 48, for the following similar policies. there is no doubt tha:
the murder of Senator Robert Kennedy is the result of a deep conspiracy- Today
the same question 18 being asked by every conscious nian througi out the whole
world including the US. Who are the conspirators in the murder of the
Kennedy brothers and what 1s their notive?
"It will be evident from a careful observetion of contemporary events in the US
that these murders are propted by political purpose. And the secret hard s
of or_ ganized and powerful conspirators are active behind them. The mystery
of the murder of President Kennedy could not be revealed even today, as the
conspiring group is very powerful and influential. And for the same reason,
the myatery of the mnurder of Robert Kennedy will not be unveiled.
"It i9 clearly proved from the rocent political event s of' the US th&t the
monopoly multi-millionaire group is tle real guiding factor of the State force
there, although the of a bourgeois dewocrecy prevails. This group has
ceptured sixty percert of the wealth of their Own country. This is the
inperialist group of the US and is conpelling the US State machinery to follow
a war-mongering policy to maintain exploitation and supremacy over the whole
world. They have e stablished firm control of' the White Ilouge besides exploi
the war leaders of the Pentagon to continue imperialist exploitation. Anid
have built up CIA to coriduct tk se affairs properly. CIA hes been carrying on
espionage throughout tlle whole world including the US. And it has been cau
the fall of governments of' different countrios and carrying on political murder
wherever necessary - today it is 88 clear as light that there 18 a deep

political conspiracy ehind the murder of John Kennedy and that of Robert Kenrelly ,
the most popular candidate of' th presidential election within four and a half
yeara and that a very poworful group is the leader of these murders.
"It 15 also difficult to be completely free from doubt about the role 0f CIA
ard Lyndlon Johnsona CIA is the onage organizati a creation of the
monopoly multi-millionaire imperialist group. And Lyndon Johnson is the agent
Of this group. it is not baseless to doubt that there are mary things Inside
these event s and many powerful persons and organizations are involved there -
For the time being, these matters will not come to light. But the people will
be able to know the real identity of the murderers of the Kennedy brothers one
day in the future.
"The political significance of the se murders is very meaningful- There is an
indication of a storm in the US. One imperialist fascist force sheltered
by the monopoly nulti-millionaire group is rai its head thore under the
of bourgeois democracy. O. other hand, a revolutionary force 18 also cqing
up there, This force is the advocate of peace, freedoa and human rights. The
etruggling Negro mass of the US is the Main force of this group. And the peace-
loving faction of the white Americans is also part Of this group- As a re sult,
a real democratic and peace-loving force is gaining ground ckly in American
tics by the side of the imperialist fascist force- Senator Robert Kenriedy
wes the most powerful white spokesan of the democratic and peace-loving force
after Presidert John F. Kennedy. the interested circle conceriled has
murdered Robert Kennedy like President Kennedy for obvious reasons."
