**Investigations**

* The Secret Service investigated the threat due to their protective responsibility for John F. Kennedy Jr.
* Detective Gary Bittenbender of the Washington Metropolitan Police Department and Detective Roland Helton of the U.S. Capitol Police were advised of the threat on May 22, 1975.
* SA Burnham advised that the Secret Service would investigate the threat, and liaison was made with Senator Kennedy's Boston office and the McLean, Virginia police department.

**Follow-up**

* On May 23, 1975, a teletype was sent to the Director of the FBI regarding the threat to kill Kennedys.
* SA Wagner of the U.S. Secret Service in Philadelphia advised that Robert Francis Kennedy Jr. resides at 11101 Sydney Street, PA, and receives four or five threatening phone calls each week.
* On May 30, 1975, Agent Jay Bly of the U.S. Secret Service in New Orleans advised that their Philadelphia Office contacted Robert Francis Kennedy of Philadelphia and he is 100% mentally disabled.

* In view of the above information, the New Orleans office conducted no further investigation.
* Copies of this communication were sent to WFO who received the original complaint and for Boston for informational purposes.
