Sirhan Sirhan was convicted of assassinating Robert F. Kennedy in 1968. He claimed to have shot Senator Kennedy but denied shooting the other victims, stating he must have done so and had no doubt that he did.

Appellant's testimony described his childhood years in Jerusalem and various incidents of bombing and shooting. He related his discovery of a human arm in the well and testified that he was a Christian Arab who had studied English since kindergarten.

Appellant purchased five to seven additional boxes of ammunition at East Pasadena Firearms on his way to the San Gabriel Valley Gun Club, where he remained from about noon to 5:00 p.m. He conversed with the rangemaster and purchased three or four additional boxes of ammunition from him.

Appellant's verbal I.Q. measured 109, while his performance I.Q. was 82, placing him in the bottom 10% of the population. A clinical psychologist concluded that the profile of this individual essentially was that of a paranoid psychosis, paranoid state.

The dissociate state is normally characterized by amnesia as to events, and appellant's amnesia began with the picking up of the gun. However, the timing of the dissociate state prior to the shooting is unknown.

Lee Harvey Oswald was shot by Jack Ruby on November 24, 1963. Sirhan Sirhan was convicted of assassinating Robert F. Kennedy in 1968. The Warren Commission investigated the assassination of President Kennedy in 1963-64, and the House Select Committee on Assassinations (HSCA) investigated the assassinations of President Kennedy and Martin Luther King Jr. in 1976-79.
