John Lawrence Pawluc was born on December 4, 1921, in Fort Worth, Texas. He was arrested in 1942 for draft card violation and in 1949 for being drunk in Los Angeles. In May 1962, he was diagnosed with "Hypopromantic psychosis with paranoid mechanisms" at the Denver General Hospital.

John Lawrence Pawluc was a registered guest at the Ambassador Hotel in Los Angeles on June 4, 1968, when Senator Robert F. Kennedy was shot and killed. He claimed to have been ill and in his room on one of the upper floors of the hotel prior to and during the assassination.

Harry E. Black, a salesman for the Bulova Watch Company, was also at the Ambassador Hotel on June 4, 1968. He stated that he was in the Embassy Room when Senator Kennedy's victory speech took place and heard the news of the shooting about 20 seconds after it occurred.

Mrs. Meredith C. Bromfield, who had been registered at the Ambassador Hotel during the first part of June 1968, denied any involvement or knowledge of the assassination. She stated that she was dissatisfied with her room and checked into another hotel on June 4, 1968.

William A. Wills, president of the Wilcock-Buick-Cadillac Company, reported that his wife, Mrs. W.A. (Jennette) Wills, and their son Charles were registered at the Ambassador Hotel on the night of Senator Kennedy's assassination. Mr. Wills stated that his wife was ill and in her room on one of the upper floors of the hotel prior to and during the assassination.

The FBI conducted interviews with these individuals as part of their investigation into the assassination of Senator Robert F. Kennedy.
