While the officers were inside the room with Sirahan, the only conversation between them took place when Officer Willoughy was drinking a cup of hot chocolate. Sirhan B. Sirhan was taken into custody on June 4, 1968, after the shooting of Senator Robert Kennedy. A search warrant was obtained for his vehicle, a 1958 Chrysler, which was found parked near the Ambassador Hotel. The vehicle was searched but no personal property was seized.

On June 5, 1968, at approximately 11:00 a.m., Munir Sirhan was transported to Rampart Detectives by Harrison and Lodolo. Adel Sirhan accompanied the officers during the search of his home, where various items were found, including notebooks, a U.S. Treasury envelope, and a .22 caliber cartridge.

An analysis of the items was conducted by the FBI, and numerous latent fingerprints and palm prints were developed from three notebooks, one Treasury Department envelope, a Cadet Corp Discharge paper, and two papers recovered in the garage.
