John F. Kennedy was shot and killed by Lee Harvey Oswald on November 22, 1963, in Dallas, Texas.

The Los Angeles Police Department requested assistance from the FBI to locate and interview guests who may have information about the assassination of Senator Robert F. Kennedy and the shooting of Sirhan Sirhan at the Ambassador Hotel in Los Angeles on June 5, 1968.

Sirhan was registered as a guest at the hotel on June 1, 1968, and shot and killed Senator Kennedy in the kitchen area at 12:15 AM on June 5, 1968. The trial date for Sirhan was set for November 1968.

The FBI interviewed various individuals, including Paul Mathias, a US correspondent for the President of the Ambassador Hotel; Mr. and Mrs. G. Watson, who were registered guests at the hotel but did not see or hear anything suspicious during the shooting; Lester Smith, a radio engineer for WOR; Neil Migelotta, who stated he saw nothing during his stay at the hotel; Jay Schwartz, who checked out of the hotel on June 1, 1968; and Peter W. Eccles, who worked on Kennedy's campaign but could not furnish any information concerning the assassination.

The FBI also reviewed a book titled "Kennedy and Sirhan" and made arrangements to obtain copies as soon after publication as possible.
