(telephone number No 4-9886) _ advised she has been
employed_ a8 a cashier and food checker at the Ambassador
Hotel, 3400 Wilshire Boulevard, since September 1966 .
She advised that her re gular shift is from 6:00 P.m _
to 2;00 a .m and on June 5, 1968, she was Working in the
liquor service area located just off the main kitchen
She stated that shortly after midnight she was
en route to the front office to get approval on a check
and as she was going through the room service area of the
kitchen she heard a lot of people yelling She stated
that at that point JEAN ABSTON_

yelled at her to back and she heard 8 omeone else 'shcut
that Senator ROBERT F KENNEDY had been shot
Mrs LIBAN advised that she returned to the liquor
service area and in a few minutes wa lked back to the
kitchen where she saw Senator KENNEDY being placed on a
stretcher and wheeled into the freight elevator She
stated that at that time there were a great number of
people milling around the area and a_ great deal of confusion
and noise
She stated that SIRHA N BISHARA SIRHAN was unknown
to her However , about 10:30 P .m _ or 11:00 p.m_ on June 4 ,
1968, she recalled seeing an individual who resembled
SIRHAN loitering around the door which lead8 from the
hallway into the kitchen She stated she could not
positively identify SIRHA N a8 being identical with that
individual and did not recall ever having seen SIRHAN
in or around the hotel prior to that time
MS LIBAN advised she was unable to furnish
any additional informa tion concerning the shooting_

firecrackers explode He could not recall the length of
time between the expiosions
or how many he heard for he
immediately ran into the kitchen away from the Embassy Room
Service Pantry LINAN stated he ran into the kitchen in the
particular interest of his own safety, a3 he suspected these
noises may have been shots During the entire time immediately
after the KENNEDY shooting_ LINAN remained in the kitchen,
thus he was unable to furnish any information 0f value in
this investigation _ He observed a photograph of SIRHAN B
SIRHAN , but stated it wa 8 not familiar to him

had been held - She was told that Senator KENNEDY had

of' June 5, when Senator ROBERT F KENNEDY was shot a % the
hotel He stated thathe learned of the shooting from the
crowd that was running al1 over the hotel - He etated that he
did not g0 to the area in the hotel where the shooting took
place and he did not see Senator KENNEDY before or after the
shooting He stated that he observed a prisoner being removed
from the hotel by Los Angeles Police Officers but he could
hardly see the prisoner

he advised that to the best of' his know ledge he ha s never seen
SIRHAN other than through photographs in the newspapers published
after the shooting.

MINNS advised that on June 4 , 1968, he went to work
at 6:00 p.mJ and was assigned to the Venetian Room to servel
drinks at the MAX RAFFERTY rally_ MINNS stated that he watched
Senator ROBERT F KENNEDY gi ve his speech on a television slet
which was in the room and as KENNEDY neared the end of his
speech

MINNS left the Venetian Room and headed toward the EEmbasey
Room in an attempt to see Senator KENNEDY as he left_ As MNNS
neared the double doors going into the kitchen, he heard abbut
five noises , which sounded like firecrackers As he entereld the
kitchen he observed CARL UECKER

ROOSEVELT GRIER and one olther
man with grey hair, along with the Japanese cook, holding a man
down on the steamr table, trying to take away a gun, which #the
man had in his right hand _ MINNS said he al80 observed Sena tor
KENNEDY lying on the floor about ten feet away, with a large
number of people around him MINNS observed two other men
nearby, who had also been shot
MLNNS stated that 3 fireman, who was present , theh
told the employees to keep everybody out and MINNS along with
three or four other waiters, locked arms and kept other
s pectators from coming into the kitchen He stated that within
the next few minutes , the ambulance and police arrived
MINNS advised he is unable to furnish any additional
information and SIRHAN BISHARA SIRHAN was unknown to him_ He
further advised that he had never observed SIRHAN in or around
the hotel area

midnight Immediately after getting off work PASTORA walked
to the kitchen located near the Embassy Room Service
and saw Senator ROBERT F KENNEDY walk into the Embassy
Bantzli-
room He then went to his locker downstairs to change out
of his work clothes when he heard what sounded like a fire-
cracker_

then a burst of four more explogions He immediately
ran upstairs where he saw Senator KENNEDY Lying on the floor
of the Embassy Room Service Pantry As he stood there, a
security guard approached him and told him to stay clear of
the area, therefore he went into the kitchen and did not
observe any further events
PASTORA observed the photograph of SIRHAN B
SIRHAN , and advised he had never seen hin before, further that
nothing ever came to his attention to indicate Senator
KENNEDY would be shot _

evening, an unreca lled employee rushed into the room and
announced that a shooting had occurred in the kitchen _
PENZA stated that he left the table and rushed to the kitchen
area to a spot which adjoined the Embassy Room , where he
noticed a dark complected man being held around the neck
by a 615" 250 pounds Negro_ PENZA stated that the entrance
way to the kitchen on the Embassy Room side was a ma88 of
people and confusion and after a brief moment he was pushed
out of the way He stated that he then returned to the
Cocdnut Grove to pick up his tips and subsequently left
en route home
PENZA was thereafter displayed a photograph'
of the subject, SIRHAN BISHARA SIRHAN and he advised that
it appeared to be identical with the individual who was

PEREZ stated that he wa s shaking the Senator! s hand , or
rather the Senator was just letting go of his hand after
having greeted him

to him like a gun shot or a fire cracker He stated
that he turned his head and saw the man later identified
a8 SIRHAN SIRHAN

waving his arm with an ob ject in his
hand which PEREZ recognized as a revolver He stated he

38 several men grabbed him in an attempt to subdue him
and take away the pistol PEREZ stated that his first thought
was that the man was simply making noise and wa ving his
arm to get people out of the Senator's way , but that he
qui ckly realized that he was actua firing the gun He s talted
that after seeing the man partially subdued by others

PEREZ advised that at this point many people
crowded around KENNEDY and that PEREZ backed up

yelling and milling about and calling for the police and an
ambulance, and that in a few minutes the ambulance came and

had taken Senator KENNEDY away , a detective from the Los
Angele8 Police Department took him to the Rampart Division

taken to the hotel from where he proceeded to his home
PEREZ advised that he had appeared before the
Los Angeles County Grand Jury and that he had identified
a photograph of STRHAN SIRHAN a8 being the same individua1
that he saw shooting the gun in the pantry at the Ambassador
Hotel He stated tha t should he recall any further information
tha t he feels wuld ke d interest to the FBI, he would
immediately contact the Los Angeles Office
