================================================== Page 1 ================================================== FD-3 02 (Rev. 4-15-64 ) FEDERAL BUREAU OF INVESTIGATION 1 6/6/63 Date On June 5 1368, SA FREDRICK E_ BZCKER , FBI, observed the search of a De Soto, two-door, V-8 , pink and white in color bearing California license JWS 033, and Vehicle Identification No 62950511, which was registered to SIRHAN B _ S IRHAN , 696 East Howard Street, Pagadena J California This examinat ion was conduc ted by Officer JANES E CLABORN 9 Badge 6023 9 Spec ial Investigat ion Divis ion (SID) 9 Los Angeles Police Department LAPD) _ 9 under the authority of a local search warrant Examination of the vehicle revealed the presence of a "Log Angeles Times" newspaper issued June 1363 The odometer reading of the vehic le was found to be "8696s_ .3 What appeared to be two spent 22 caliber lead project ilee were found on top of the front seat on the pagsenger 8 ide of the automobile One bus iness card from the "Lock stock and Barrel" eun and fish equipment store, 8372 East Huntington Dr ive, San Gabr iel, California, was found on the rear floor Jf the automobile on the paesenger side Officer CLABORN examined the contents of the glove compartment and found one empty box of CCI Mini Mag High Power 22 caliber bullets One sales receipt, No 2372, of' the Lock Stock and Barrel store was fo una in the glove compartment and this receipt r2flected the puichase Jf four boxes of 22 caliber bullete for the eur Jf 83.93 Which was pa id for in cash on June 1, 1968. Closer observation determined this vehicle to have an e ight cylinder engine, a fireflite transmi88ion and a radio antenna on the right rear fender It was noted this veh icle wa: located at parking meter number 436 and that a parking Violation ticket , number 33-43559 M, dated June 5, 1968= at 8:35 a m_ 9 had been igsued for this vehicle by the Los Angeles Police Department and had been placed under the windshield Wiper on the dr iver 8 8ide _ It wa8 a183 obgerved that State of California vehicle regigtration certificate attached to the steering colunn and vis ible through the W indow on the dr iver '8 8 ide of the vehicle reflected the registered owner to be S IRHAN B 8 IRHAN , 696 East Howard Street, Pasadena 9 California The registration cert ificate a180 reflected the Vehicle Identification Number of this vehicle to be 62050511 . At approximately 4:35 p . m _ Officers R_ W . JOHNSTONE J Serial Number 11506, and L. Lieutenant HEGGE was advised that the car wa8 located on the east side of New Hampshire Street south of Wilshire Boulevard_ The car was placed under observation and was being protected to preserve any possible evidence Lieutenant HEGGE advised that he would immediately dispatch black and white patrol cars to the area together with the necessary laboratory examiners for the search of the vehicle Lieutenant HEGGE stated that this woula require the obtaining of a search warrant which he would personally handle 0.6/5/68 alos_ Angeles , California F 'ile? HUGHES stated the was returned to him at which time he gave the key to Lt_ A_ S _ HEGGE , attached to the Rampart Divis ion, Who obtained a search warrant to search a vehicle believed to belong to SIRHAN HUGHES advised the key was returned to him by Lt HEGGE and he entered the key into evidence at the Grand Jury hearing.
