Shortly tnereafter , WALTER observed KENNEDY
leave the stage area and enter the passageway inta the
kitchen
At about that time

TIMOTHY and WALTER became
separated WALTER attempted t3 follow KENNEDY intj the
kitchen area and as he Was entering the kitchen area, he heard
three sharp nises which resembled a cap pistol.
At almost tie saie instant the crowd in front
3f him opened leaving a greater gap between him and Senator
KENNEDY WALTER saw a man fall backwards t? the fljjr with
t blood al1 Jver his face and seemingly suspended in the
HAITER alsj saw Senator KENNEDY Jying Jn the floor
The crowd closed up the gap and immediately
pandemanium broke out
WALTER and TIMOTHY immediately left the kitchen
aree and hid behind a wal1 WALTER advised that -ne did not
hear any shots after the initial three shots were fired,
but ne observed at least tw? other individuals , both men,
inside the anteroom t? the kitchen wh? had apparently been
shot
After remaining Jutside the kitchen for about a
minute , TIMOTHY was able t? re-enter tile kitchen; however

9 was advised of the nature of the inquiry
and the identity of the interviewing Agent MC MAHON furnished
the following informa tion:
MC MAHON stated that on the evening of June 4 , 1968
9 at approximately 8.30 PM, she arrived at the Ambassador Hotel
3400 Wilshire Boulevard Los Angeles

California with ROBIN
KAREN CASDEN , LAURIE PORTER, and SCOTT HOWARD _ She further
advised that a11 four of them were successful in sneaking into
the press room located on the second floor of the Ambagsador
Hotel
They remained near the back wa 11 and on the terrace
throughout most of the evening.
MC MAHON advised that approximately one and a half
hours after their arrival at the hotel, she noticed an individual
pacing up and down below the terrace_ She stated that he would
talk to a Security Guard on the first floor below them, then
walk upstairs and into the press room He would then return to
the first floor and walk to the Security Guard and again go into
the press room _ MC MAHON stated he did this on several occasions
while she was standing on the terrace and it continued up until
the time Senator KENNEDY spoke inside the press room , which she
believes was around 11:00 PM_ MC MAHON stated she did not
see him again after KENNEDY started to speak and advised she
does not remember any description other than the fact that he
was ma le and had dark brown hair_
MC MAHON advised they went inside the press room to
hear KENNEDY 8 speech and stood On chairs at the back of the
room while he spoke _ At the end of his speech, MC MAHON stated
she told those with her that she wanted to shake his hand

MC MAHON stated that at the end of KENNEDY ' 8 speech, she jumped
from the chair and ran towards the stage where KENNEDY had been
speaking_ She then went left of the podium into a hall like
area in an attempt to reach KENNEDY

but when she was approximately
ten feet from KENNEDY the area was dosed off someone shutting
a folding wooden partition She then atte_ to peer around the
partition and at that point the partition was drawn back by a
large Negro male who pushed HOWARD and herself to one side
MC MAHON stated they then wa lked in front of the speaker 8
stand and noticed for the first time a white female_

40 to 45 years old lying on the right side of the speaker' s
stand _ She was covered up to her midriff with a table cloth
and her face and hair was covered with blood .
MC MAHON advised that approximately two minutes
later CASDEN ran up to her crying and shouted

bullets" over and over agein, as well as , "They shot him, they
fi shot him MC MAHON observed that CASDEN had blood on her
head ana the right side of her dress and leg- MC MAHON advised
that she then asked CASDEN what happened and CASDEN told her
that bullets went in front of her face and that Senator KENNEDY
had fallen on her She also told MC MAHON she had been behind
the Senator in the kitchen when he turned to the right smiled ,
shook her hand took two steps forward

and then fell back upon
her She told MC MAHON she then went along the kitchen wall and
ran back into the press room MC MAHON advised that after this

stated that a Secret Service Agent and herself started taking
CASDEN from the room heading for the right exit MC MAFON
advised that she then observed approximately 15 Los Angeles
Policemen holding a man , however she could not really see him,
but there was a large number of individuals apparently trying
to reach hin_ MC MAHON stated she then told the Secret Service
Agent she was going to take CASDEN home and they left the
building at that point.

KENNEDY would shortly appear in the ballroor at the podiur in the
front Of' the room after he had finighed his victory epeech in the
prese room_ MC MAHON advised that at this point they started
mov ing towards the front of' the roon and then heard several
people scream near the speaker ' 8 stand _ Shortly after this
soneone said that Senator KENNEDY had been shot MC MAHON
stated S omeone then told everyone to leave the ballroom and they
moved into a small prese room located cloge by and watched the
evente on television MC MAHON advised that while thejy wer e
watching television, an announcement cane over the television
eet stating that no one was to leave the hotel MC MAHON
adviged that they remained at the hotel until approxima

HOWARD voluntarily furnighed the following information:
HOWA RD stated that on the evening of June 4 1968 ,
at; approximately 8:00 p . m , , he arrived at the
Ambaseador Hotel,
3400 Wilshire Boulevard Los Angeles Ca lifornia , with ROBIN
KAREN CA SDEN , LAURIE PORTER , and KERKY
ANN MC MAHON He stated
that al1 four of them were successful in gaining entrance into the
press roon located on the second floor of' the hotel and thej
spent nlogt of' the evening on the terrace located opposite the
speaker !s stand
HOWARD advised that at approximately 9:00 or 9:30 p.n
3 he talked to an unknown individual who he thought was rather
strange This individual had on a busboy '8 uniform with a
white jacket and he was very difficult to understand , HOWARD
advised that he apparently was of' a foreign extraction and
when he first saw this individual he aeked him in jest why he d1d
jurp off' the terrace and this person gave a reply which he
could not understand HOWA RD described this individual as a
