Nith respect to a previous gtatement attributed
to Hayor Samuel W_ Yortye Los Angeles_ Californla_ a8
reported by the newg media on June 6, 1968 alleging
Sirhan was associated with the W E B DuBols Clubs of
America , and a vehicle registered to Sirhan 's brother
Adel , was observed on January 16 1966, 1n the Vicinity
of Baces Hall, 1528 North Vermont, Los Angeles , California,
where a meeting sponsored by that organlzation was belng
held _ information has been developed Indicating Adel Sirhan
had previously been employed as a musicLan at the Fez Res-
taurant, 1508 North Vermont , adjacent to Baces Hall - Full
details are being developed with respect to th18 pbase of
our
investlgation .
Op June 9 , 1968 _ a Unlted Press International
release datelined Cairo made reference to the arrest of
one Soliman Sirhan by Iraqi euthorities as an Israeli spy
alleging he was a
brother of Sirhan Bishara Sirhan_ Sirhan '8
mother during an intensive interview by FBI Agents on June 10,
1968 , volunteered she bad heard tbis newscast and stated she
has only flve sons Sirban, Munlr, Sharif Adel and Saidallab ,
none of wbom are living outside the Unlted States . The
individual to wbom tbe Uplted Press International referred
was unknown to ber .

after responding to the call
at the Ambassador Hotel, 2 distraught Mrs _ Kennedy attempted
to keep bim from assisting the Senator stating your
hands off I'm Mrs Kennedy _ As the Senator was placed
1n an ambulance, a0 argument ensued between Behrmann and
Mrs _ Kennedy as to who would accompany the ambulance and
again, according to Behrmann , when be questloned Mrs Kennedy
while en route to the hospital as to wbat bad transpired _ she
"1 stated "I don 't give a damn what you say , grabbed his record
book and threw it out Of the ambulance _ Upon noting the
Senator was baving difficulty breathing and thereafter trying
to assist him, Behrmann was told by Mrs , Kennedy "You keep
your dirty filthy bands off my busband_ and sbe struck bim
on the right side Of his face stunning him He further recalls
Mrs Kennedy called to a ma le associate who was sitting ip the
front seat to "Come back here and throw this ambulance man out;
be '8 bothering be '8 asklng too many questions
It was further reported by a witness at the hospital
that upon arrival there Mrs , Kennedy grabbed
a camera from a
newsman, knocking it to the floor and sbe also swung at the
newsman bitting him in the chest area . Senator Kennedy '9
bodyguard then jumped over the stretcher and punched tbe
Dewsman in the face.

In addition, whereas press reports cleim Rafer Johnson,
Olympic champion , and Roosevelt Grfer _ professional football
player, subdued tbe assailant , Iovestigatlon reveals tbe first
to reach the asga1lant were two hotel employees . They tben

On June 9 1968 Detective Da le Buehler , Area One
Homicide Chicago Police Department advised that on Saturday ,
June 8 ,
i968,
at approximately 10:00 AM, two ma le Negroes
Subsequently identified as Robert Smith also known as Yaree
Ameer and his ha lf-brother Michael Walton entered Supreme
Grocery Store 343 East 5lst Street, Chicago_ and without any
warning shot the owner of the store who was bent over arranging
a display in the store Three witnesses observed Smith and
Wa Iton enter the store a pproach the owner and without utter- 8
ing a sound fire two shots from a .38 caliber revolver, strik-
ing the head of Abder Rayyan_ described a5 a ma le Arab , age
51, a lien from Jordan

who has been in the United States for
five years He died fifteen minutes later Detective Buehler
further advised that an Aaron Meyers is being he ld as a
ma terial witness_ inasmuch as he drove the car which carried
Smith and Wa lton both to and away from the scene of the murder
A confidential source who has furnished reliable
information in the past_ advised on September 21, 1967 that
Smith, using the alias of Yaree Ameer is the acting director
of the Chicago Branch of the Student Non-Violent Coordinating
Committee (SNCC )
A characterization of SNCC is attached hereto_
Sources utilized in this characterization ha ve furnished
reliable information in the past
According to the arrest records of the Chicago
Police Department , Smith has been arrested a number of times
for burglary aggravated battery, robbery and purse snatching,
inciting a riot and rape

On June 10 1968 local Chicago radio stations
in reporting of the killing of Abder Ra yyan of Jordanian
nat ionality indicated that the motive for the killing might
be one of revenge or a demonstration of emotion by the Negro
assa ilants over the assassination of Senator Robert F Kennedy
by the Jordanian Arab nationa] One newscast stated that
Aaron Lee Meyers ment ioned above as being he ld as a ma terial
witness has been charged with murder and two other ma le Negroes
were being sought _

grocery store owner Furthermore a warrant has been issued on
June 12 1968 for Sally Miller, described as a fema le Negro,
who a lso was reported ly in the vehicle which carried Smith
and Wa lton to and away from the scene of the crime

A source has advised that in 1966 Stokely
Ca rmichael was elected National Cha ira n by the Central Com -
mittee in 1967 Ca rmichacl was replaced aS Chairman
H _ Rap Brown with Ca rmichael assuming the position of
Recruiter and Organizer for the SNCC In August 1967 at
the invitation of Fidel Castro Carmichael participated in
the Organization 0f Latin American Solidarity Conference
which wa 5 held in Ha va na Cuba Subsequent t ereto Carmichael
tra veled to Hanoi and other sections of North Vietnam He
returned to the United States in Dcember 1967 at which
t ime hs passport was picked up because of tra vel to un-
authorized countries
A source advised that when Ca rmichae] wa S elected
Cha i rman 0 f SNCC _ the organization emba rked on a program 0f
el im fnating Caucasians from its ra nks With the election of
M Rap Brown aS Chairman in 1967 it embarked on a world-
wide struggle for human rights am to take a Fi 1n stand
aga inst violations 0 f these rights the American Government
and to strengthen its programs of opposition to the dra ft
and to the United States involvement in Vietnam

Homicide Chicago Police tment, advised that on Saturday ,
June 8 ,
1968,
at approximately 10:00 AM, two ma le Negroes
subsequently identified as Robert Smith also known as Yaree
Ameer_ and his ha lf-brother MignaeT WaTton , entered Supreme
Grocery Store = 343 East STst Street, Thicago and without any
warn ing shot the owner of the store who was bent over arranging
a display in the store Three witnesses observed Smith and
Wa lton enter the store approach the owner and without utter-
ing a sound fire two shots from a 38 caliber revolver strik-
ing the head of Abder Rayyan described as a ma le Arab, age
51, alien from Jordan

who has been in the United States for
five years He died fifteen minutes later Detective Buehler
further advised that an Aaron Meyers is being he ld as a
ma terial witness, inasmuch as he drove the car which carried
Smith and Walton both to and away from the scene of the murder

Smith, using the alias of Yaree Ameer is the director
of the Chicago Branch of the Student Non_Violent

On June 10 1968 loca 1 Chicago radio stations
in reporting of the killing of Abder Rayyan of Jordanian
nat ionality indicated that the motive for the killing might
be one of revenge or a demonstration of emotion by the Negro
assa ilants over the assassination of Senator Robert F Kennedy
by the Jordanian Arab nationa 1 One newscast stated that
Aaron Lee Meyers mentioned above as being he ld as a ma teria 1
witness has been charged with murder and two other ma le Negroes
were being sought _
On June 10 1968 _ Detective Da le Buehler Area One

had not been charged with murder but was be ing held as a
material witness He further stated that warrants have been
issued for both Robert Smith and his half-brother Michael Walton,

at the Ambassador Hotel, a distraught Mrs _ Kennedy attempted
to keep him from assisting the Senator stating "Keep your
hands Off him, I m Mrs Kennedy _ As the Senator was placed
in an ambulance, a0 argument ensued between Behrmann and
Mrs Kennedy as to who would accompany the ambulance and
again, according to Behrmann when be questloned Mrs Kennedy
while en route to the bospital as to wbat bad transpired, she
stated "I don 't give a damn what you say , grabbed his record
book and threw it out of the ambulance. Upon noting the
Senator was bavlng difficulty breathing and thereafter tryiog
to assist Behrmann was told by Mrs _ Kennedy "You keep
your dirty fiitby hands off my husband , and she struck bin
on the right side Of his face stunning him_ He further recalls
Mrs , Kennedy called to a ma le associate wbo was sitting ip the
front seat to "Come back here and throw this ambulance man out;

It was furtber reported by 2 witness at the hospitel
that upon arrival there Mrs Kennedy grabbed
a camera from a
newsman, knocking 1t to tbe floor and she also swung at the

newsman Ln the face.

On June 9 1968 Detective Da le Buehler Area One
Homicide Chicago Police Department advised that on Sa turday ,
June 8 ,
i968,
at approximately 10:00 AM, two maLe Negroes
subsequently identified as Robert Smith_ also known as Yaree
Ameer and his half-brother Michael Wa lton , entered Supreme
Grocery Store 343 East 5lst Street, Chicago and without any
warn Shot the owner of the store who was bent over arranging
a display in the store Three witnessges observed Smith and
Wa lton enter the store approach the owner and without utter-
ing a sound fire two shots from a 38 ca liber revolver strik_
the head of Abder Rayyan described as a ma le Arab age
51, alien from Jordan who has been in the United States for
five years He died fifteen minutes later Detective Buehler
further advised that an Aaron Meyers is being he ld as a
ma terial witness, inasmuch as he drove the car which carried
Smith and Wa lton both to and away from the scene of the murder .
A confidential source who has furnished reliable
information in the past , advised on September 21, 1967 that
Smith, using the alias of Yaree Ameer is the acting director
of the Chicago Branch of the Student Non-Violent Coordina tirg
Committee (SNCC)
A characterization of SNCC is attached hereto_
Sources utilized in this characterization ha ve furnished
reliable information in the past
According to the arrest records of the Chicago
Police Department Smith has been arrested a number of times
for burglary aggravated battery, robbery and purse Snatching,
inciting a riot and rape

On June 10 1968 local Chicago radio stations
in reporting of the killing of Abder Ra yyan of Jordanian
nationality indicated that the motive for the killing might
be one of revenge or a demonstration of emotion by the Negro
assa ilants over the assassination of Senator Robert F Kennedy
by the Jordanian Arab nationa1 One newscast stated that
Aaron Lee Meyers _ mentioned above as being held as a ma terial
witness has been charged with murder and two other ma le Negroes
were being sought
On June 10 1968 , Detective Da le Buehler Area One

had not been charged with murder but was be ing held as a
material witness He further stated that warrants have been
issued for both Robert Smith and his half-brother, Michael Malton,
charging them with murder
On June 11 1968 , Sergeant John Mc Mahon Area One

Department , advised that the where-
abouts of Smith and Wa lton are unknown at this time and inten_
Sive investigation is being conduc ted to locate these persons
On June 12 1968 _ Sergeant Mc Mahon advised that
Smith and Wa Iton are still being sought for the murder of the
grocery store owner Furthermore a warrant has been issued on
June 12 1968_ for Sally Miller described as a fema le Negro,
who a lso was reported ly in the vehicle which carried Smith
and Wa lton to and away from the scene of the crime

A conference a t Raleigh North Ca rolina that Spring , brought
together miany of the demonstra ting Southern students In a
loose network of militant youth which was officially named
SNCC in October 1960 _
A source has advised that in 1966 Stokely
Carmichael was elected Na tional Cha irman by the Central Com-
mittee in May 1967 Ca rmichael was replaced as Cha irman
by H . Rap Brown with Ca rmichael assuming the position of
Recruiter and Organizer for the SNCC In August 1967 at
the invitation of Fidel Castro Ca rmichael participated in
the Organiza tion 0f Latin American Solidarity Conference
which wa 5 held 1m Ha va na Cuba Subsequent tereto Carmichael
traveled to Hanoi and other sections of North Vietnam He
returned to the United States in December 1967 at which
time his passport was picked up because of tra vel to un-
authorized countries
A source advised that when Ca rmichael wa S elected
Cha i rman 0 f SNCC _ the organization emba rked on a program of
cl iminating Caucasians from its ranks With the election of
MI Rap Brown a5 Cha irman in 1967 it embarked on a world-
wide struggle for human rights am to take a fiI stand
aga inst violations 0 f these rights by the American Government
and to strengthen its programs of opposition to the dra ft
and to the United States involvement in Vietnam
Literature distributed in February 1968 identi-
fies SNCC as a n organization in the re volutionary vanguard
[t A dvocates that to be success ful it is necessa ry to deve -
op a revolutionary ideology and re volutionary program
On August 13 1967 while addressing a group in
the Watts a rea of Los Angeles _ Ca lifornia H Rap Brown sa id
"You better shape up America or we 11 burn you down 11 Later
1 n February 1968 in a publicized note Brown wrote "America
i f it takes my death to organize my people to revolt against
you and to organize your Jails to revo]t aga inst you and to
organize your children your God your poor your country
and to organize mankind to rejjoice in your destruction and
